    Default Addicted to William's!

I admit it, I find William's Mug soap to give a more enjoyable lather than the Col. Conk's Almond. Now, if I'm heading somewhere where I need to smell good, I'll admit the Conk is a first choice, but I still prefer starting with William's.

I can find it for $0.79 in the local pharmacy in town, but it's usually packed with smelly soaps when shipped, so it smells like mint...

Anyone else like the cheaper stuff over the premium soaps?

I used the Williams for years, its a good soap without faults. Then I found SRP and was introduced to Colleens soaps @ The Gentlemans Quarter. Williams aint bad, but its not Colleens.

I have not tried Col Conk, but from what I gather, I would not list that as a "premium" level soap.

Try out some Tabac, or Harris Arlington, and see what you think after that.

I like Williams and regularly use it. I like Tabac and several others, too.

    +1 on the cheaper soaps!

Being relatively new to wet shaving (4 months) I don't really see me ever using the more expensive soaps exclusively. I get an excellent shave with the cheaper homemade soaps. Honeybee is my current favorite, but I haven't tried a whole lot just yet. I'll probably buy a sample or two of the super expensive stuff just to try it. I just don't see myself buying them when I can get a fantastic soap for 75% less.

I cannot stand the scent of the Williams soap. It smells like insect sprays from my childhood.

Yeah. I've heard people say it smells like lemon or almond. I smell strong citronella. Fortunately I like the smell of citronella.

For me, Williams soap works wonderfully--as a shower soap. I just cannot get a proper lather from it to shave with.
