I tried the sandalwood today and it was very very nice. Lathered very well and lasted my whole shave no problem at all. The scent is nice light but lasts along time. I will be recommending it for sure.

Hello everyone. I tried the SRD Lime soap and I can tell you it's great. Terrific lather and the fragrance is wonderful. If you like lime, I highly recommend it.

It took forever but I finally got my 3 SRD soaps last week and I have had a chance to shave a couple times with each. Before I get to the soaps I would be remiss if I didn't mention excellent service by the crew at SRD, when I ordered I immediately got an e-mail stating they were making a new batch and it would be a week or 2 which I really appreciated, SRD mailed it out USPS priority except to this day there still is no tracking info other then it stating shipping info recieved by USPS nor have I recieved the original package. A replacement package was sent out without any problem at all again great customer service by Don and others at SRD.

Now to the soaps I recieved the Lime, Blood Orange and Sandalwood, all 3 are some of the easiest lathering soaps I have ever used regardless of which brush I use and I have very hard water, and I have tried a multitude of glycerine and other soaps to compare them too, I have about 25 other soaps on my shelves. The scent of the Lime and Blood Orange is very strong yet very pure no artificial or candied smell like some others, the Sandalwood is a bit more muted and it has it's own distinct smell unlike AOS or Trumpers but as Don said above it will open up with age. Some Sandalwood products I have tried in the past while I wouldn't say I got an irritation I did get a warming of the skin but none of that with SRD soaps in fact just the opposite it seemed I could actually feel the essential oils when applying the lather with any of these.

Again only a couple uses each soap but the results were the same on each and I highly recommend trying them especially if you are a fan of Mama Bears or QED glycerine soaps, and again a big thanks for great customer service.

I'm patiently waiting for the Rose Otto. I bought two tubs, and I feel cheap. I see guys are buying upwards of 4. I was worried it'd go bad before I use it. Hopefully, SRD will be able to do it again if they sell enough....

I don't think shave soaps go bad at all, at least mine never did yet anyhow and I got a few that are over 2 years old, I try to keep them all covered somehow the soaps I got that are not covered do seem to lose a little scent on the first re-use of them but after that they seem fine, these here are in tubs with screw on lids so I would imagine they should hold the scent for at least a couple years if kept sealed and other then that they will be fine no problem lathering, maybe someone who has soaps longer can advise

I think the basic rule of thumb is that glycerin soaps can go 'bad,' as they contain water and can dry out. I think this can be dramatically slowed down by keeping the lid on tight. And still, I think it's on the order of years before they go bad.

Hard soaps on the other hand, triple milled, tallow based, etc, basically don't go bad.

There was a great thread on the topic not long ago, located here.
