First of all, I hope that you all Bomb followers and general people out there had a great holiday. As Sachin correctly pointed out, I am still out of town. I have been checking this forum and my PMs for feedback from people that I sent tubs before Christmas. No comments from them yet, which usually means good news. I am happy that I can help members get a great shave, that is my main motivation for making The Bomb. I want to thank you all for posting these excellent reviews and for your interest, I am so grateful to SRP for their support of The Bomb.

I found my inbox flooded this morning ;-) and replied to all the requests, Thanks again for your support of The Bomb!!!! I should be back in a couple of days (weather permiting) ready to start the new year. I should post an announcement on the vendors forum soon.

    Alraz,

I am new to this site and str8 shaving. I just wanted to tell you how much I respect your development efforts. I would/will buy some of your cream if for no other reason than to encourage you to continue your quest. The country needs more innovative people like you.

    Cheers!
    David

    Thumbs up

i can vouch for this stuff, has been and will remain one of my absolute favorite soaps.
i think he has a couple scents, i got the "cedar humidore" scent, which describes it perfectly and wow its amazing, lathers easy and keeps moist on your face.
the scent is the best part, its strong cedary in the dish, but when rinsed and dryed there is almost no odor. i love the smell so much i dab it in my palms and rub them together!

    YouTube - shaving lather video

Cream: Al Raz's Atomic Bomb Lime

    Brush: Tweezerman Badger

Song: "Largo Al Factotum"- from the opera "The Barber of Seville"

SiRed8 was kind enough to send some of Al's cream my way when he purchased his. Following is a miniature review of the cream as the video pretty much takes care of the lather questions.

Density: Al's cream is very dense and not at all runny (C.O. Bigelow) yet calling it a soft soap isn't right either in my opinion it has a fair amount of grit and stickiness to it. I would say it falls somewhere between TOBS cream and valobra or cella as far as density.

Latherability: This cream does take time to get used to and has some very unique quirks to it, however the lather can't be achieved when lathered properly it truly impressive when considering the size amount used. This cream is hydrophobic, that is its afraid of water, far more so than any other cream I have tried. Literally wetting a brush and shaking it vigorously a few times is all that is required to build lather with this product.

It also takes a bit of time to get this cream going which is why I believe some get frustrated and try adding water because they believe this will get the cream going quicker. Just a few drops is enough to make this stuff go flat and runny, just give it a minute or so of hard work and a damp brush and you will be surprised with what it can produce.

Another thing is most people use a almond sized dallop with this product as they would do so with other creams. A pea sized or smaller amount is all that is needed with this stuff. Any more and you likely to overflow your bowl or make a dry thick lather.

Moisturizing: I never really notice this part on any soap or cream I have ever used so can not comment. I will say that the cream did not dry out my skin but then I have oily skin so take that as you will.

Scent: is purely preference based and should have nothing to do with a review in my opinion. That being said I love lime soaps and creams and quite enjoyed the bomb's scent. it lasted through the mixing and the whole shave and disappeared as soon as I put on my ASB as I a good lather scent should.

In conclusion I would (and will) happily buy and use the Bomb again and recommend it to anyone who enjoys cream or is unsatisfied with the volume of their current lather.
