First of all, than you to all of you for your kind words. Also, thanks to all the folks that tried The Bomb at the gatherings, particularly to 2sharp, Lee and Glen for making this happen; and also Doc for giving me the idea to send it to the gatherings. I may ask str8razor if he would like me to send him a a little dish as a contribution to the giveaway. Also, if you would like to see The Bomb at your local gathering, please let me know, I would be glad to send samples.

This is exactly the type of feedback that I was looking for to remove any thoughts of bias from my mind. I know now that I am not the only person that can obtain good quality lather with The Bomb ;-). In any case, I am glad that you guys liked it. I know I am closer to my goal of making the best soap in the world.

Cool!!!! I wonder what they thought of the scent and conditioning...

Thank you nun2sharp. You are correct, The Bomb you tried contains 100% lavender essential oil.

I am glad you like this idea, I must say that this is not universal. My idea was to make something that could be used both as a soap or a cream depending on personal preference. And yes, you could send me a PM with your request, I have a batch on production for the people that wanted some and it is almost ready by the way, and this coming version should be even a faster latherer. I am currently working on another project, a milled soap.

Again, thank you very much for your support of The Bomb,

    Al raz.

    This looks really good Al!!!

I am having trouble making good lather and it looks like this would be a good product for a n00b like me. Keep up the good work, and good luck on your quest!

Default The Bomb is truly The Bomb

    Hello all,

I've actually been using the Bomb (well, an earlier version--I've yet to experience the actual Bomb) and I must say it's the best soap I've yet shaved with. Granted, I haven't tried every soap out there, but of the ones I have tried this is undoubtedly the best. It's always given me a very close shave with no irritation. It does a fine job of conditioning my skin as well. I did initially have some problems with it drying out on me as I shaved, but I seem to have these solved (just needed a bit more water--it can tolerate more than other soaps I had tried). The price was definitely right for the amount of use I've already and will get out of it. The pictures are no joke--a little goes an extremely long way. I can definitely recommend this soap to any and all of you. It's not failed me yet. I'm actually eager to get my hands on this latest version.

How do I get on the tester list, eh?

I actually have pretty hard water here in CO, so I'd be curious to see how it would perform.
    Looks totally awesome, though.

If you ever decide you *don't* want to sell the soap/cream maybe you share/sell the formula then....?

If hard water is part of the beta testing process...you can chip a tooth on the water in Arizona!

Not to mention, the more photos I see of the Bomb...the more I want some!

A note to those that PM ed me for a sample when I first posted months ago. I am not sure whether you are still interested in the samples so please send me a reminder. I have all your names but limited budget to send all the samples and there have been a lot of requests, sorry.

Thank you for your kind words. I think that it would be a great product too but I am biased ;-). Most lathering problems have their root in the difficulties to find the peak of the soap. Once that is mastered, the problems go away. Believe me, a lot of people have lathering problems so it is a good idea to start working on them right away. If you have specific questions, feel free to pot or send a PM .

I see that you are taking soapmaking as a hobby. This is a wonderful hobby that would teach you a lot of stuff, it is addictive too. Regarding your recent batch, I would not be concerned with the appearance of the soap/cream but rather with the lather that it produces. I must tell you that making good shaving soap is very difficult, especially from commercial blends as you do not have much control. Do not be discouraged, we all go through this. ;-) My suggestion is to make small batches first. I can give you other tips as well.

I was wondering where some of my tested had gone ;-). In any case, you and others have told me what they think about The Bomb, thank you. You can always ask me for samples of the new stuff.

Well, there is no current tester list, there is very little I would like to change in this soap at this point. I have tested the effect of hard water by simulating this in vitro. However, if you would like to get some samples, please PM me.

    Same as above ;-)

Yes, I am doing this at home, are you a government agent by any chance? ;-) I have been asked for a few tubs of The Bomb. I am waiting for some containers to ship these along with a bunch of samples out to people. I also started another batch for the recent requests. As long as there is interest, I will sell The Bomb in small quantities and without quiting my job ;-). Perhaps it is better if we discuss this somewhere else ;-)

Thank you all for your support of The Bomb.

    Default A light picture review

I have tried the bomb and I have had good results. While not to the same results as Alraz has achieved I have had a great experience (now a few times) due to his generosity. So, without further adieu, I'll give you guys some cream pr0n.

Here's the initial amount of cream I took following the directions that a little goes a long way. It's about the footprint of a pea with the thickness of a nickel. I had soaked my silvertip badger brush in warm water. (attachment 1: firstCream)
I then whipped for at least 2 minutes getting a bit of undesirable results (attachment 2 and 3: whip1 whip1a). The application was thinner than I expected but I knew this was due to not enough cream, not because of the cream itself (attachment 4: apply1).
So, I added about half the original amount and rewhipped the cream. I found the result to be a luxurious gliding cream that wasn't too thick, and not too thin. It didn't dry out and had great coverage (attachment 5: apply2). The cream rinsed away very clean. I was too light on the use of it overall but there was plenty of cream for a second pass (I had a newly sharpened razor so that's all I needed). The Bomb overall is a great cream and I'm looking forward to using the sample I was given again.
