Alas, I figured as much!
In all seriousness, is there anything out there that compares to the scent of Wild Rose? I've never tried it but have heard it's quite good. Almost impossible to find anyone who wants to move theirs as the group buy was awhile ago from what it seems.

Thanked: 953I got mine randomly. I emailed Charles about various products, and I think I asked if he was going to do a Wild Rose group buy again, and he mentioned he had a couple in innventory so I bought it. That was probably 2007. But if I was you I'd just email him and ask if he has any.
I'd be happy to cut a little chunk off and mail it to you just so you can smell it. I bet the SRD special will be even better.

That would be incredible! I'm setting my man Zib up with a sampler of a chunk of C&S 88 and some Taylor's Rose Cream and some AOS Rose cream for him to try but he and I talked and think that the SRD is going to be a different scent than these three, you agree?

I enjoy Geo.F.Trumper's rose soap. A bit powdery and sweet when you put your nose to the puck , but when you lather it up the smell is real nice.

Agreed, just picked this soap up and debated doing so but have read quite a few good things about it...I wasn't disappointed. I did not have the honor of trying the old tallow formulation but imagine it couldn't have been much better than the current.
I know some boutique shops such as SCS and such make a rose but haven't given them a run yet.

Replying to myself here, but as promised, here's a very brief summary on what I discovered from my AoS Rose shave this morning.
It's a nice smelling cream. A bit feminine, yes, but who's going to know?
It looks and lathers very much like T&H Rose cream. Not that thick and surprisingly not as moisturising as I expected. It was no competition with the likes of Trumpers Rose soap and cream alike, Tabac or AdP cream.
It was good when followed with the Gentlemen's Refinery Standard AS Balm. The rose and Xanthan Gum scent in that combined really well afterwards.
Overall, I wouldn't buy this cream for myself. It could have a thicker lather and better efficacy from a cream this expensive. Also, it could have a better slickness to it as well. Maybe I'll have different results when using it with a pre-shave, e.g. Trumpers Coral Skin Food.
That's my tuppence.
