It's a nice smelling cream. A bit feminine, yes, but who's going to know?

It looks and lathers very much like T&H Rose cream. Not that thick and surprisingly not as moisturising as I expected. It was no competition with the likes of Trumpers Rose soap and cream alike, Tabac or AdP cream.

It was good when followed with the Gentlemen's Refinery Standard AS Balm. The rose and Xanthan Gum scent in that combined really well afterwards.

Overall, I wouldn't buy this cream for myself. It could have a thicker lather and better efficacy from a cream this expensive. Also, it could have a better slickness to it as well. Maybe I'll have different results when using it with a pre-shave, e.g. Trumpers Coral Skin Food.

    That's my tuppence.
That's odd, I seem to get a very good shave out of AOS creams, granted, CF is better as I'm sure a few other high ends are that I've yet to try but I've gotten a fairly decent shave out of AOS. I do find their SS much better than their creams. I do agree with you that the same shave can be had by Taylor's for much less money, on the Rose side. I've not tried Trumpers SC in Rose, just their SS, which as I stated before, is really good. I'll be interested to see how Collen's Rose turns out from TGQ and how her selection of the scent varies from others. Another top notch performer that is now extinct is the (in)famous Coates Rose Cream. I've not tried it either but understand from a few members here that it is very nice.

    Enjoy

Oh, don't get me wrong. Their creams have been very good with me as well, it's just that the Rose, which is really aimed for women seemed not as good as the rest.

    WHOA!! Hang on a second!!
I haven't vouched for Taylors here at all, so just to set the record straight I do not rate their creams or soaps. I find them dull and hard to work with. I think you may have misunderstood the term "T&H".

I've not tried this one but I see it a lot on these forums. One other I've heard of and not tried is Cyril R Salter's Wild Rose. Might be worth a try, but I've not seen or heard of any samples of it around here.

It's funny, many folks have had issues with Taylor's but I guess I've been fortunate in that the two I have, St. James and Rose are both quite good in all aspects of the shave. I've not tried their soaps so have no thoughts around that. Like you, I've not tried Salter's either although I do understand it's a bit "woodsy" for what it's worth? There are also a few boutique shops that make a rose soap/cream that I've not tired either simply due to the fact that with Rose, I find it's either HIT or miss, not really an in between.
