    Default Glycerine Soap Experiment

I found a 4oz bar of "Clearly Natural" soap at the local organic grocery for $1.64. I melted it in a mug and it worked as well as or better than VDH glycerine! Now to get past the "Rainforest" scent, it's not bad, just different than your standard shave soap aromas. Their web site also lists unscented as a choice so I might experiment with adding scents to it.

Two shaves, so far so good.
I'll probably buy the unscented and add Bentonite clay (if I can find it locally) and a scent for part two of the experiment.

I added 1/4 tsp bentonite clay to my 1st re-melted batch.
The lather was better and slicker

I found it at the same organic grocery store as the glycerin soap bars. It's call " Aztec Secret" 100% calcium Bentonite clay, 1lb for $7. I probably have several lifetime supplies now!!

Great to see the experiment has turned out well.
Let's hear back on the EO addition.

The EO will have to be stirred into the glycerine, I think.

This may change my whole thoughts on Glycerine soaps.

Here's where I went, but Whole Foods probably has it to.
Here's the website for the soap
    Here's the clay website

I haven't tried the EO yet, but the clay really helped a lot. Shave four was a DE and it worked really well, my first three were with a straight.
