1+ Kiss my face is good stuff. My face isn't sensetive but it is what I used with my first str8 shave. It lathers and lubes very well. I tried the Williams when I first went to using a mug and brush and believe me there is much better soaps and they will imorove your shaves.

MWF is also very gentle to the skin, and, for me, gives good lather, so I'd +1 that as well.

    Default Institut Kerite Shaving Soap

I have been using Institut Kerite soap for over a year and it is a good all around soap for most types of skin.

I could live with this soap for the rest of my life.

    D. R. Harris and Coates make excellent creams.

The Castle Forbes Lime is well thought of but I have not had a chance to try it.

I used Williams and Colgate cake soap for many years. They will work.
I found that you needed to spend a lot of time on preperation with them to get the best shave. Some of the time it is the scent in the soap and not the soap that is the irritant.

    Good luck.

Both Tabac and MWF are easy on the skin (unless you are allergic to lanolin)

Look for soaps with no added fragrence. Most essential oils are actually irritants and should be avoided by those with sensitive skin. Soaps with added glycerin or highly superfatted soaps will make you skin feel softer and smoother. How easily your skin is cut, has nothing to do with how sensitive it is, but is entirely a function of how well your face is lubricated, how sharp your razor and your shaving technique.

If you find that you are allergic to lanolin, you might also try AOS unscented, a great tallow based soap that does not contain the items most likely to cause irritation.

    Enjoy.
