    Default WHY

    This may be a stupid ?
    { I know , no such thing as a stupid ?, Just stupid people that ask them }
    I've been seeing posts with making lather with soap and creams.
    Why and what's the difference from using each alone ?

    For me it makes a creamier and more effective lather. More cushion and slickness than soap or cream by itself.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    This is indeed a very interesting question. It depends on what soap cream, and sometimes the combination. In general, I feel the same way as Jimmy. You get improvements, particularly in the cushion department as the lather (a.k.a uberlather when it contains glycerin) becomes denser and thicker. This is a way to make two products of low to moderate performance perform like a good one. This is not needed when you use high end product and you seldom see people building uberlather with, let's say Castle Forbes, although it happens from time to time. Same as with mixed drinks, you do not often see people using well aged spirits or expensive wines, it does not mean it would not work but people do not commonly use Dom Perignon 1996 for Mimosas ;-).

    I have found that a crappy soap and an average cream when used together make a fantastic lather. So Crappy + Average = Fantastic.

    Oh so very true. If only the folks doing that realized the damage they are doing to their own futures.

    Of course, who am I to talk? I've bought half a dozen razors, close to $300 in hones and two strops since April.........

    As a matter of fact, I did. Either cash, debit card, or paypal pulled directly from checking. I didn't borrow for any of it, although I'm going to be eating mac'n'cheese for a week to make up for the new SRP strop I just bought. lol

    The thought process behind it came from just mixing the two (Superlather) because Creams tend to cushion better, and soaps tend to glide better...

    Adding the 4-5 drops of Glycerin (Uberlather) came a little later, and seems to make the lather much more rich and creamy, also seems to make most last much better on the face....

    Not all mixtures work well together, some are fantastic...

    There is a thread in this part of the forum that lists a few of the favorites...

    I just used my "English Garden" this morning CF Lavender / TOBS Lavender Über
