mark agreed to look into it I'll update if I hear anything else. If anyone is reading this and interested it might help to chime in to show it's worth his time and effort to even try and get this stuff.

I know it's not "traditional" wetshaving and I agree it's probably more of a "I'm late" or travel lather but if we don't at least try are we no better than those multi blade goo latherer's who believe they are getting the best shave possible?!

9/23/2009 Well for some strange reason unknown to myself (probably boredom) I ordered some ultra shave off the e-bay. Not bad price bout $20 considering it came from scottland (bastard packed it an envelope though ) and the conversion rate thing.

first impressions, well the packaging is just cheap plastic so no biggie (pretty blue though) but I give big kudos to the canister itself (also plastic no metal) as it held up the whole trip here in a cheap padded envelope we'll see how the cream...er..foam? whatever it is held up from the trip.

9/26/2009 Sooo I'm moving and I accidently packed all my str8ts DE and SE so I have had to resort to using *gasp* a mach 3.

I have used the ultra shave once so far with the mach 3 (then I had to pack it as well).

    first shave impressions:

well first off it is a very thick cream like lotion that squirts out with a kinda *thunk sound (like a lotion bottle). The directions say to dry your face and use NO water the whole shave relying entirely on the product. I did as it instructed.....holy cow it actually worked!

Its a very wierd feeling like...well shaving with lotion (packed my thesaurus too ;p). The shave was very comftorable though (remember using a mach 3) and I love that I didn't have to blow out my wrist whipping lather with a brush. the shave felt very slick, I didn't need cushion since I was using a cartridge so I'll have to check that after I move.

the original bottle said to not rinse the razor at all, the one I have is a newer bottle that says to rinse the razor occasionaly since people were complaining that they got hair all over thier face from not rinsing. It works either way I have found.

the shave was very smooth and enjoyable, when I did my last pass I rinsed very lightly to get the excess hair off and then per instructions rubbed a little more product inn for a a/s balm. This was not needed since I had no razorburn but did it anyway. ultra shave as a balm leaves your face sticky for a few minutes but dries quickly.

However it leaves your face heavy, like you can feel the weight of the product on your face, very smooth skin though.

Also one last and very Big thing for me, the smell. Ultra shave smells like yes you guessed it lotion. I don't want the smell of jergins on my face for a balm. The scent is very light but it does linger quite a while.

    conclusion after first use:

Ultra shave is surprisingly a good product! very simple and would do great for our original plans as a travel cream or when in a rush. The big drawbacks for me are the smell and the weighty feel of your face from the product...also the shipping since it's only in the UK.

I can't wait to try it with my str8t DE and SE and may consider buying another canister if I ever travel or if they bring it to the USA but other than that its average as far as performance....which is still 100 times better than than that can goo gillette sells. I was very surprised and pleased it has been a fun experience
