What a delightful discovery, not only Pre de Province shave soap, but also The Soap Bar.

The soap came in a travel can. The fragrance is fresh and the lather rich. I have used it with straight razors as well as double edge with the same results. This is good stuff and I already have it in rotation with Tabac, in addition to Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose shave cream.

    Default Pre de Province Shave

    Bruce,

I think you will like it. For one thing, it has shae butter. The fragrance is pleasant without being overwhelming, and I found the lather luxurious.
The one problem is that The Soap Bar will no longer carry it, I am sad to say. Either way, find a can and try it.

    Regards,

    Obie

Pre de Provence is an excellent soap. I prefer it over Institute Karite.

Yup... another SSAD sucker. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm impressed with the $13 pre de provence. It does lather up really nice and keeps on the brush for 3-4 passes with minimal re-wetting. Very nice soap. I'm not crazy about the plain "soapy" smell, but good marks for performance.
