Pre de Province Shave Soap
Gentlemen,
For years I had heard of Pre de Province shave soap and not tried it. Why I don't know. I suppose I was enjoying playing with a variety of other soaps, notably Tabac. Recently I ordered a puck from The Soap Bar (thesoapbar.com).
What a delightful discovery, not only Pre de Province shave soap, but also The Soap Bar.
The soap came in a travel can. The fragrance is fresh and the lather rich. I have used it with straight razors as well as double edge with the same results. This is good stuff and I already have it in rotation with Tabac, in addition to Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose shave cream.
Regards,
Obie

PdP is one of my favorite non-tallow based soaps. The scent is fresh and clean, not overpowering. The shea butter makes the skin feel great after the shave.

Thanked: 45I agree with everyone above, it's among my favorite soaps to use. I also want to add that the aftershave balm is great too! I ordered some for a great price from a lady advertising on craigslist. She might have some left, if anyone is interested check out this link.

Pre de Provance
Gentlemen,
Since my initial post, I have shaved many times with Pre de Provence and love it more and more. This is good stuff.
I also have learned that the Soap Bar (thesoapbar.com) will no longer stock this product. That's too bad, especially since I liked dealing with the good folks at this vendor. They do carry other fine products, however, and I highly recommend them.
Now I must find another reputable vendor that stocks Pre de Provence at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for your report on the shave soap. Here in New York City, Pre has retail stores. Maybe, there is a store close to you.

Obie, John at shavingessentials.net is a fine vendor and he has PdP available.
You get hand written thank you notes, and usually a bunch of free samples too. If you have any natural food stores near you like whole foods, you can sometimes find PdP products there too.

Yes, good soap. Pre de Province has been in my weekly rotation for some time now along with Provence Sante, MWF, Tabac, Old Spice, and Proraso (summer).

PdP is among my favorite products. I have the SC, SS, and AS Balm. PdP also has a sage scented bath bar that is very similar in scent to the shave products. Good Stuff!
