Thanked: 23two creams mixed - greater than the sum of its parts?
I just tried a blend of two creams, Castle Forbes lavender and Classic Shaving lavender. I used a "half snurdle" each. The result? A fantastic lather that whipped up quickly and gave a great shave with a distinctly different character than either one alone. As a newbie, I am just learning how many options are out there for new straight shavers. I'm glad I tried this, as I like it even better than my favorite Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Shave Cream.
What combinations have worked for you?

Thanked: 137I've made some odd uberlathers, generally when I've had a cream which hasn't given me quite enough slick on its own. Examples include Maca Root SC & Tabac, Maca Root SC and Col. Conk Bay Rum (I nuked the scent out of it when melting it into my bowl, so it's now an unscented avocado and glycerin soap - really good!). Oh, and I also use Palmolive SC and the Col. Conk together when travelling - gives a really good, cheap uber, although somewhat odd smelling (not a huge scent of the Palmolive SC, personally, so that's probably why I don't like the smell of the uber).

There are many cases where mixing creams does result in a superior result however I cringe at your choice here. Castle Forbes is the best shaving prep in the Universe. You polluted it with a far inferior product. Kind of like buying a BMW and taking the engine out and replacing it with 4 Cylinder Ford from a Fiesta.
My opinion of course. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
