    Default DR Harris soaps

To those of you that have experienced the Harris soaps first hand, do you see them as being any close to the MWF soap in terms of how moisturising the lather is and how easy it is to lather?

    Thanks in advance.

One further question - I've noticed on the Harris soap wooden lid, the label suggests they'll keep for 12 months. In your experiences, how true is this and will they go for longer? Comparing this to the Palmolive shave stick and Tabac, they're stated as 36 months. My Trumper's Rose also stated 12 months I think but I had a previous puck for well over 3 years.

I think they are a cut above MWF. As far as storage goes I have some soaps for years and the only soap I ever trashed was a glycerin based soap that started growing little things under the surface after a while.

Alex, The Harris soaps lather like crazy, better the MWF and I have great water when I live ( I know some folks have water related lather problems with the fat) For skin drying effects, it's pretty good. I almost always use a balm in the winter, but with harris soaps I can go without and be ok.

As far as storage is concerned, the biggest thing to worry about with long term storage would be loss of scent. I have a few soaps vintage soaps that are older than I am they still work fine for me. I am sure my puck of harris is older than 1 year old and it still works fine.

I don't have such a good experience with Dr Harris myself. I got the Arlington soap but had to get rid of it as it gave me a burning sensation. It also didn't give the greatest lather. It was ok, but I was not impressed at all. Maybe I was expecting to much because of all the hype. I'll stick with my Trumper soaps and creams. They have never let me down as has MWF.

Same here, Harris over MWF. My puck will last longer than 12 months (hello many pucks in circulation ) and although I've been using it for about 9, there are no indications it'll perish anytime soon.

I have a DR Harris Almond puck which has been in my rotation for close to 2 years, and it's still a top notch performer.

For me MWF is the most moisturizing of the two, DRH are easier to lather and offers a choice regarding different scents, so I would place DRH above MWF.
