I believe he was making reference to a child at a pool, with the Toe Dipping and Running cannonball type personality thing...

Rather than staying at the edge, dipping in your toe, and seeing if you like it, Why not just run, and do a Cannonball.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Bingo

I feign ignorance again, but what do the expressions "toe dipper" and "cannonball kind of a guy" in your post mean? I don't understand.

    Thank you again.

    Obie-

There are kids in the summer that dip their toes in the pool, and shiver 'cause it's a bit cold, and think about whether or not it's worth it and look around at the other kids having fun.

Others dead sprint towards the deep end, kicking off their shoes along the way and jump in splashing and laughing and getting weird looks from the dry kids on the pool deck with wet toes.

I'm that second kid. Of course, the lifeguards always blew their whistles at me...

That's when you fake drowning, they know you're faking and ignore you, then you get them fired for dereliction of duty.

    BingoBango,

    Aha! A most lucid explanation.

    Obie,

I can't answer for CarrieM, but I don't think she does samples. And honestly, the price on a tub of her shaving cream is so reasonable priced anyway, you'd be better off just asking her what scents she can do, or give her an idea of the scents you like, and she could whip some up for you.

If you don't like it (which I HIGHLY doubt) I'm sure you could donate it for one of the monthly giveaways, and not lose much money.

I can't remember exactly, but I think a tub of her cream cost me either 10 or 15...IIRC, it might have been 15 after shipping.

Either way, EXCELLENT stuff, and you won't regret it

Glad to see you posting again Things settling down a bit?

    My regards :

    Default CarrieM's Creams

    My dear Rob,

I am delighted to read your note. Thank you for taking the time.

I'm afraid I must have given the wrong impression of my intent when inquiring about samples. I was not chasing after freebies, as a member in these threads might have wrongly assumed. No, not at all.

A craftsman needs to be paid for his or her creation.

With small exceptions, I prefer scentless shave soaps and creams, and balms, but from the various posts I read on CarrieM's shave creams, I assumed all were scented. That was the only reason for the sample question.

I am sure CarrieM will have an unscented shave cream, too. In that case, I will put in an order in the future — I have to use up some of my stash and make room for additions.

I am sure, as you say, her products are excellent.

Yes, my schedule is starting to ease up a bit and I will post more in the coming days.

    Stay well.

    Regards,

    Obie

Obie, I do offer an unscented cream if that is what you would prefer. That is not a problem at all..

And... yes I occasionally do send sample sizes out

    Default CarrieM's Creams

    Hello, Carrie,

Thank you for writing. Yes, I do prefer unscented shave creams, soaps and balms, since I like to save the fragrance for the aftershave. I am glad you offer unscented.

It is kind of you, but no, samples are unnecessary. I will place an order for the unscented shave cream in the next few days. I will be delighted to include it in the rotation. Everyone speaks so well of your products, and I feel it important to support our fellow SRP members.

    Regards,

    Obie
