I'll have to get me some of that!

If you like that one, you should give Tabac a try as well. Its my go-to soap, it lathers like a dream and it has, I think anyway, that same "clean" scent that you mention. It doesnt really smell like anything else, just a really fresh, clean scent. I love it!

Red-- you got it. Lavender & Citrus. I love Arlington. Great smelling stuff.

I find that it smells kind of like those high-end pre-packaged wet napkins they give you on the high-speed luxury trains. If that makes an ounce of sense to anybody.

Harris soaps are all great! I'm currently using the Marlborough but have puck of Almond waiting.

So, here's a question... What do Arlington and Marlboro smell like? So far I've gotten the rough approximation of Citrus and Sandalwood respectively...

Also, which is better -if one is- between the D R Harris Cream or Soap?

    See above.

Haven't tried the creams, but with the quality of the soaps, I don't intend to.

To me I always think of Froot Loops when I shave with Arlington, now that might be a turn off, but that's what it smells like to me, but not cloyingly so. Imagine a "manly" Froot Loops Definitely citrusy.

Marlborough has a very strong sandalwood component but with an additional hint of cedar and musk. It is a very manly scent and I imagine that any fan of sandalwood would be a fan of Marlborough.

I've used both the soaps and creams in both scents and both were fantastic shaves. Guess it depends on your preference between creams and soaps. You can't go wrong either way IMO.

Yep Dr. Harris Marlborough was todays lucky winner for me this morning.
So many great shave soaps and only one face....

For the budget minded get the refill without the fancy bowl and
keep the soap in one of those inexpensive plastic kitchen food storage
boxes or even an empty (but clean) cottage cheese or butter
container. Just remember to mark the container.

When replacement time comes around pop for the fancy container of
your favorite. I have some Mitchell's Wool fat in the fancy
container on the way. I did that last month for Tabac.

Anyhow the cheep kitchen storage container trick let me try almost
twice as many fine soaps for the same money... I found some that
stack very nicely and at three for 2.99 they let me stretch my
    budget nicely.

The Arlington is a citrus-fern combination. The citrus hits you first but is supported by the fern. The citrus tends to settle on me quickly leaving the fern note to come throught more strongly. This tends to be a spring/summer scent for me. The only drawback is it fades quickly on me.

The Marlborough seems to be a combination of Sandalwood and Cedar. On me the cedar tends to dominate the scent. I like it, especially during the fall/winter months. This one tends to last longer, at least on me, than Arlington.

The Harris creams are excellent as well and on par with the 3-Ts (Trumper, Truefitt and Taylor). The scents match the soaps, aftershaves and colognes.
