Default First Try with SRD Soap

A while ago I ordered the sample pack of soaps from SRD, today was my first day using any of them. For today's shave I built a lather with the SRD Sweet Patchouli and a few drops of glycerine.
I was impressed with the lubricity of this soap (which to me, is the most important thing in a soap). The scent was an added bonus.

I felt the lather was a bit on the airy/bubbly side as opposed to creamy/whipped, but I don't really care what a lather looks like, I'm only interested in the shave. This soap gave me a fantastic smooth shave. I will definitely be ordering more of the SRD soaps... Now, it's just a matter of deciding which scents I like the best.

I still am a big fan of D.R. Harris, but I'd say the SRD soap is right up there, and it costs a little less.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    Nice!
I Purchased a vanilla scented soap from SRD a while back, and it is performing beautifully. Nice rich lather and a smell the Mrs. finds quite nice too.

I'm expecting some Bulgarian rose kind of thing soap from SRD.
Did you get that in the sampler pack?
Would really like to hear your opinion on that, if so.

Packages sure do take a long time over the pond and all the way up north...

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I really like and recomend the srd soaps, you can travel with them easily, they build a great lather, and they smell amazing.

I think I have 6 SRD Soaps. They're all good. The Bulgarian Rose Otto is my favorite. If it becomes available again, Grab it....

Agreed regarding the SRDs: good stuff. The soaps, from which I expected nothing spectacular, are all right up there with the best. And I do mean the best. I think we probably assume that SRDs can't be as good as all those "old country" concoctions. But it isn't true. Price is great, but the quality is what counts in the long run.

I just tried the sandalwood today and it's amazing, it lathers very quickly and has a great scent!

I had been using my SRD Lavender for the past 6-7 months and it is great. I think I paid $17 all in with shipping.

To try something different, this time I ordered the Castle Forbes Lavender. Of course I ordered from SRD, since they are great. The CF arrived yesterday and I was able to give it a go. No knock on the SRD soap, since it is half the price, but wow, CF is dope. I don't know if I can go back. There is no comparison.
