There's always graters for those who are bothered by the fact they're not tighter fit. I would be more bothered if the puck would not fit the dish. Lather and let lather, friend.

As you noticed, the puck will stick. Also with constant use without incessant drying, the puck will expand to fill out the dish nicely.

Haven't tried, but IIRC milled tallows won't melt well.

Try this quick fix. Run the hot water from the tap. When hot reduce the flow, and run the bottom of the cake of soap under the slow stream of hot water until the bottom of the cake of soap is soft. Than press the cake of soap into the dry jar, keep pressing and use even preasure with both hands, or about a minute or so longer. Let dry a couple of hours before using, or overnight is even better. Sliding around soap is solved. I hope this works for you cromagnum.

Mines stuck to the bottom of the pot, so I'm fine with that. I agree that the puck is way smaller than the pot, but its a good soap so I'll live with it..!

You can grate the soap up if you want though, and press it down in the bottom of the pot to get a better fit.
