I'll have to give Rasage Poulin a try.
Highlander, Lime Margarita, Blackberry Sage, and Toasted Almond from TGQ.
I get good lather, good "slick", my skin doesn't dry out afterwards, and the scent is heavenly candy for my nose.
I'd have to go with MWF as well. Its got such great glide and moisturising properties, and I really like the scent too. Very subtle and clean!
Others include Mama Bears Earl Grey Tea, Tabac and Trumpers sandalwood.
Tried MWF today (first time) and liked it, but it dries faster than I'm used to. I have been using TGQ's creams and soaps mostly, Desert Ironwood, Highlander, Oak & Moss, for a few years now. I'm happy with them all :p
I would have to say that vintage Williams is my favorite currently ( have not used too many). I was lucky to find some locally. I then compared it to the currently offering and see what all the fuss is about.
Thanks for the thread now I have a general idea of where to go for my next soap purchase.
Been having good luck with Mama Bear soaps, but I haven't tried much else
MWF for me too. In the beginning I actually hated it. I thought it was the worst soap ever, but I used up all my others and while waiting for the next batch to arrive I was forced to use it. After a week or two I was hooked, and have hardly used anything since.
Geo. F. Trumper Rose Shaving Soap, a nod to my British ancestry. If it were ever unavailable (discontinued after 130 plus years?) I would choose Mitchell's Wool Fat which I rate as 1"A" closely behind the Rose.
This answer is easy for me... Mitchell's Wool Fat.. Hands down!
I love the scent, and it's subtlety... I love that I can whip it up into a mountain of lather.. I love the way my face feels afterward.. And I love carrying on the tradition that's been honored for over a hundred years.
If I could only choose one soap to use for the rest of my life, my choice would be easy!
