Some help with Ogallala Bay Rum Soap!
I recently purchased the soap sampler pack from Ogallala Bay Rum and was excited when I opened them up and had the first smell! I just started using a straight (mixing it up with my DE) and used this soap for my first couple shaves. The problem is that the foam all but disappeared on half of my face before I could get to it. So I adjusted the water to soap ratio a couple of times and I still got the same results. Am I doing something wrong? I've never had this happen with my Col. Conk Soap or Speick Cream, so what's my problem? Thanks for your help!

Ogallala Bay Rum Soap
Hello, Milkylee:
I, too, had trouble producing lather from Ogallala. Although not a fan of the bay rum fragrance, I thought I should at least give the soap a try. Eventually I gave up on it. Of course, the soap has its fans.
Regards,
Obie

I get good results with OBR
I used OBR this morning. I fill my bowl with water, do about two dipped brushes of water into the soap. I soak my brush during the shower. Wring out the brush. Dump the soap soaking water into the bowl. I've learned that I need to bear down on the brush a little more than I thought to load it. When is is properly loaded, I get gobs of lather a little smaller than a pea on the brush. Then, with the water in the bowl, I get a really thick creamy lather.
Try loading your brush a little more. Good Luck.

Thanked: 13245Yep that is the new formula, it should be a rather easy to lather soap, but all soaps take a bit of getting used to...
Really there are very little in the way of variables when it comes to Single product lathering...
The easiest way I know of to adjust this stuff is the basic "Safe Lather Method" described countless time on SRP and also on u-tube here...
