I received my three soaps yesterday and tried the coconut. I was quite dissappointed. Perhaps it's very sensitive to hard water and ours is very hard indeed. I always thought I could get a good lather from anything but not this. Tonight I'll try using distilled water and see if it makes a difference.

Well, I have to totally backpedal on my previous post. I tried the coconut again and this time, because of a tip from another forum member, I presoaked the top of the puck and did a more thorough soaping of the brush. This time I got a truly excellent lather. It's really interesting how a simple change of technique can make such a radical difference.

Thanked: 12That's good you had better results the second time. I have fairly hard water and always got a good lather from Pirates Cove. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I love the coconut scent, but I had been curious about the bay rum. Have you tried it yet? BTW, Mama Bears Toasted Coconut is awesome as well.
