I think they are identical. On the Bigelow tube its says made by Proraso, and having tubes from each, I cant tell any difference. $10 is right, though I have sometimes found it at half price (under the Bigelow name) from the chain Bath and Body Works.

As was noted, it is a standard in the shave den; one of the best. Use alone, or mix a dab with your favorite soap. Add a few drops of glycerin and whip up uberlather that is addicting.

I'd heard about this in another thread a few days ago so I went out and picked up a small tube (my local bath & body works had two sizes) for $5.
It's freaking amazing. I usually wash off any soap remnants with a warm wash cloth then give it a splash from a cold wash cloth. This was like having both on my face while I shaved. And when I splashed my Pinaud on my face after, it didn't burn...

If you have Rite-Aid pharmacy out there you might check and see if they have any of the stuff from the "Real Shave Co.". I picked up a tube today to try out as well ($5). I've heard decent things about it and I figure its worth a shot if it's easily available without going online every time I need shaving soap/cream that doesn't involve a spray can.

Never heard of CB, but I've used CO. Good stuff.
Its a good backup cream for me, but I don't like the cooling sensation on my face. It makes my face feel cool and I like my face to feel warm during my shave. Plus the menthol in it kind of numbs my face so it gets tricky to feel if the angle is right.

If you want a really nice affordable cream (on par with AOS or T&H) check out Real Shave Company. Its about $5 at Rite Aid, but don't let that fool you. Its amazing.

I'll second this... I get it at the local Harris Teeter. Good stuff! How long have you been wet shaving? I'm in the local J-ville area as well.

Sorry, I got them at the local Bath and Body Works. However, their website has the same deal going on.

Sounds like the subject has been adequately covered. I would only add the following:
    • C.O. Bigelow is very good quality and locally available
    • A little dab of the stuff will easily whip up enough lather for a 3 pass shave and a good face washing after.
    • A $10 tube will last forever.
The older I get, the better I was
