    Default CB Bigelow?

I keep asking everyone's thoughts and opinions, but I keep running into things that are readily available to me in the beautiful city of J-Vegas. The things I CAN get here, I'd like to. Has anyone heard about the CB Bigelow shave cream? It comes in a weird green toothpate looking tube. It's a favorite of Italian barbers. Does anyone have a good or bad thing to say?

C.O. Bigelow. It is Proraso repackaged, and I love it!!

So they are comparable in price? The stuff I found is about 10$ a tube. Would you recommend it over say, something like Col Conks Shave soap? I'm just trying to decide to keep ordering things, or get what is local.

I've never used Bigelow but am an avid user of Proraso (which is essentially the same). Last time I bought Proraso it was about $10 a tube. A little goes a long way so it's still a good deal at that price (especially considering the price of goop-in-a-can at the supermarket).

It's an excellent product and the menthol gives it a nice cooling sensation on your face... great for helping to wake up in the morning.

I also have Col Conk and think it's fine, although some on this forum have given it less positive reviews.

Personally I'd give the Bigelow/Proraso a try although ultimately it comes down to what you like. I'd say pick up a few different products (creams and soaps) to see what you like and then make a rotation from those.

I have a few soaps etc, but every so often, I find some gear around town. I'm big on being able to pick up what I can get readily. For those tubes, are they good with brushes, or do they leave a nasty residue in the bristles?

No residue with the Proraso I use (essentially same as Bigelow). Brush cleans up just fine.

I love it. The Bigelow (Proraso) lathers up quickly. The smell is great! And just a little dime sized drop will be more than enough.
You will not be sorry if you try the Bigelow.

I was given a gift of the Bigelow by my son and like it very much, enough that I will probably buy a tube when it runs out. You can rub a half inch/12mm on your face and use a wet brush to make a lather or use it in a bowl or mug. A little goes a long way. And it is gentle on my aged skin. I have used some other softened soaps and this, for me, beats them. I like the pleasant smell which some other softened products do not have, for instance one of the highly touted soaps, to my nose, smells like a wet dog.

Great stuff, and one of the benchmark creams for many wet-shavers. I love that menthol/eucalyptus cooling sensation!
