    I'd take them over most tallow based soaps.

    +1 for Martin de Candre - the "top of the cream" (or should that saying be re-defined? ) but also Creed - for me the Original Vetiver fragrance.

    I also think Geo F Trumper's Rose is worth a mention. A very good lather from an entirely vegetable-based soap.

    klar kabinett works fantastically....if you dont mind rose scented soaps and dont mind a 500 gram chunk of soap that lasts a long time.

    Martin de Candre (fougère) - only non-tallow I've kept for more than 5-10 shaves (other than TGQ soap which I used to really enjoy too...). Of those I've tried, they're the only two that have impressed me enough to have ever held a long-standing place in my rotation.
