Thanked: 30Favorite Non-Tallow soaps
I tend to prefer tallow shaving soaps but there are a few non-tallow soaps that really shine for me. My favorites are:
I Coloniali Mango Oil Shave Soap
Klar Kabinett Soap
Pre de Provence Shave Soap
What non-tallow soaps make your list?

Ogallala, Pre de Provence, Provence Sante, I Coloniali, Mama Bear's and VDH Delux. I find these soaps are easier on my face than any tallow based soap I've used, in particular the first 2. I don't know why but they are. If tallow, MWF and QCS.

Valobra Soft Soap, VdH Deluxe, et fini...
Most of the non-tallow soaps I've tried just don't seem to do it right for me. That being said, I haven't tried I Coloniali yet.

For me the only non tallow based soap that's on top of my favorite performing list is SRD's Bulgarian Rose.

Thanked: 33Pre de Provence makes excellent bath soap. I take the bath soap and grate it into melted VDH and make a franken soap that is a killer shave soap. Non talllow based.

Thanked: 6I just acquired some Valobra Soft and MdC. I have about 3 or so shaves with each and find them every bit as good as my tallow mainstays: Harris Marlborough/Arlington, Cella, and P160.

I am very pleased with MdC. I have been reading about other people's experiences with it and decided to take the financial plunge.
I have no regrets. For me...absolutely worth it. And...to set the hook deeper...they sent a sample square of bath soap and shampoo with the shave soap. My bathroom is very scent conflicted right now.
Bottom line...quality stuff.

Thanked: 11For me the absolute is Martin de Candre. Perfect in every way. Great and fast lather. It must be noted that the cost of shipping is a bit high but the total cost of the large jar is $68.00 which is on par with other high end soaps and creams such as Aqua di Parma and a few others but the large jar also last a year.
