Thanked: 2Crabtree & Evelyn shave soap
So I can't find ANY soaps for straight razor shaving or anything related in my area except for one store I came across the other day that actually does sell razors. Even though he does sell some Krieger and other types of razors, that's not what i'm looking for since I already own a Dovo. But since I mentioned that, does anyone have any input on that brand of razor? It has me curious now. Anyways the first soap I ever used was Col. Conk Amber and in my extremely limited experience (col conk, van der hagen, williams), conk seemed to give me the best glide and dramatically reduce irritation and nicks I always seem to get on my neck as my neck has many sharp angles and it's tough to get the skin nice and taut. My question has to do with a soap called Crabtree & Evelyn "Nomad". Does anyone have any experience with this soap and if so could you please detail your opinion and whether you liked it or not?

About 10 years ago I had a Sandalwood soap from Crabtree & Evelyn that was very nice. It came in a wooden bowl w/lid and I'm sure you could buy refills. Not sure if it is the same formula or manufacture used today, but it was certainly high quality then.

Thanked: 20I use C&E Sandalwood and I like it. It gives me a good lather and a smooth shave and the sent is rather nice also. I haven't used the Nomad but do have a puck of their Sienna on the shelf waiting to go.

I picked up some C&E Nomad products for my first shave, yesterday. I purchased some creme & soap. It will be a few days before I use them, but I will let you know. The aroma of the Nomad is some of the best I've ever experienced.

I have the Nomad soap and I love it! The scent is a bit of an acquired taste, but I have found myself reaching for it with higher and higher frequency as time goes on. I have found it to be best if you load the brush a little more than many other soaps - just seems to take a little more oomph to get a good lather, but it produces a nice, slick, comfortable lather.

I have some and I think it is a good soap, but the cream is better for me. Either is worth the money.
There are other soaps that I much prefer though there isn't anything bad for me to say about C & E soaps.

Thanked: 1195C & E soap seems to be love-it-or-hate-it, although the reviews Ive read are usually on the negative side. Ive never tried it myself so I cant offer an opinion. But I did smell their Nomad soap once and nearly gagged, and I'm normally easy to please as far as scents go.

C&E
I have used the Crabtree and Evelyn Sandalwood and liked it. I am now using the SRD Frankencense and like it even more. IMO the SRD lathers better the C&E, but I realize there are alot of factors that can play into it. It is looking like SRD is going to be my go to soap due to the quality and price of the product. Lately I am wanting to try Mitchell's Wool Fat just to see if all the talk is true.
