I smelled the entire range of the creams (there are 3 that are currently in production, but some stores still have stock in the discontinued ones) and not a single one of them gave me a positive reaction. It was like smelling the armpit of someones grandfather to me. But, if you dig it, all the power to ya.

Thanked: 993I'm not a fan of the Nomad scent. I do have the C&E Sienna, and enjoy the smell. If the lather is anything like the Sienna, you're good to go. My experience has been favourable so far, great lathers, easy to make. Hopefully the ingredients in the Nomad are the same, save for a vial of scent.

Thanked: 2Thanks everyone
I appreciate everyone's feedback and today I picked some up. Cost around $9.00. I agree the scent is a little unique and probably is an acquired taste. I'm anticipating my first use and will give some feedback later on. I will also look into the Proraso thing as well although I could not find it on the CVS website. In any case, thank you all.

Thanked: 2Aftermath
So I did use the Crabtree and while I do feel it could be a good soap, i'm still lusting for the slickness and glide that Col. Conk had. When I mixed water with the col. it seemed to become so slick that the container almost fell out of my hands. That's the kind of glide i'm looking for. I do not know what ingredient in conk that makes it this way -- anyone know? Is it just a high glycerine content or something? I want to figure out what it is so I can buy other soaps that would match this super-slick feeling. My skin seems to be pretty sensitive and any kind of razor drag appears to irrirate my face and neck.
Thanks.

It's most probably the glycerin that's making it glide better, however there are many soaps that are much better for your skin than col conk.
I just got myself some DR Harris marlborough and some mitchell's wool fat. both have a great reputation with members here, and I can attest to the fact that these are amazing quality soaps. They leave my skin much softer and smoother than does col conk.
If you want to get the best of both worlds, I would suggest either, get a quality soap, (look in the review section) and add some glycerin on top of the puck before loading your brush.
Or you can get a top quality glycerin based soap like geo f. trumpers or the SRP line of soaps.

first couple times i smelled Nomad soap or cream in the store, i was turned off and left... couple weeks/months later smelled again and felt same feeling, but decided to buy some. i gave it a try and immediately like the scent in a lather... don't know how it happened... but it was very enjoyable...
i tried colonel conk lime and thought it was a less than satisfactory product in all respects...

Thanked: 79My favorite Crabtree& Evelyn soap is their sweet almond oil. If you can find it, it is awesome.
That said if you like the glycerine slick feeling of Colonel Conk, there's lots of stuff out there... have you tried plain old VDH? Couple bucks everywhere and, to me at least, shaves identically to Conk...
