A New High: T&H Trafalgar!
After years of using Noxema, Gillette, Colgate, and Edge shaving creams in a can, I went to a brush and better creams four months ago when I started straight razor shaving.
In the last four months I have used TOBS Rose, Proraso Green, Proraso White, EJ Sandalwood, Williams, MWF, and VDH. All of these have proven to be great. My favorite two are TOBS Rose and Proraso Green.
I made the mistake of ordering the T&H SC and Balm sampler. This morning I used the Trafalgar sampler. It was a special experience with a clean, soapy, talcum powder type of scent. While the shaving cream was excellent, it did not necessarily put the TOBS or the Proraso Green to shame. HOWEVER, THE BALM was a different story. The balm is the finest aftershave/balm I have ever experienced. It was so soothing and made my face feel like velvet. Some balms leave a greasy feeling but not the Trafalgar Balm. It immediately soaked in and became like a protective layer of "goodness" on my face. It was such a unique experience that I find it hard to describe. Before the T&H Trafalgar, the only balms I have used included Royal Copenhagen, Stetson Original, Nautica Blue, and Neutragena. The Trafalgar is head and shoulders above all of these balms.
I going to have trouble going back to these balms. The T&H sampler is a trap! Once you experience the T&H quality, it is hard to go back. If they just weren't so expensive.

Hello, DLB:
You're quite accurate about Truefitt & Hill's quality. Many here use their products. I do. Good stuff.

I really enjoy Truefitt and Hill, especially the 1805, all top notch. On the other hand, I don't care for Proraso, It's a good cream, I just don't like Menthol.
If you like T&H, give Castle Forbes a whirl....We have assumed control !
