Default eshave soap - why so little love?

There has been a lot of talk recently about the great French soaps, with most of the attention going to Martin de Cadre which I agree is a fantastic product. One soap that doesn't seem to get much mention is eshave. As I understand it eshave is a US company but the soap is made in France. I bought the lavender soap in Paris a little while back and I consider it one of my best performers. The lather is thick and creamy and easy to build (even with London's notoriously hard water) and the fragrance is very nice and subtle. It also seems pretty well priced for the quality.

It is a really great product. Perhaps it is the cheesy name, perhaps it is the confusing brand identity (US company, French made, non-specific name) but I think this soap should get a lot more attention.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

It has a lot to do with availability and word of mouth. If a product isn't easy to find it won't get the attention it might deserve and therefore no one can recommend it to their friends. I peruse many shaving vendor sites, most of them North American based, and I can't recall seeing any eshave products at all. I might be different if I was actively seeking them out, but the reality is they just don't seem to have a high profile over here in NA.

Of course there are many top tier products that everyone should try but there are no distributers in this side of the world, such as Xpec, Domenico Caraceni (to be fair they have 1 distributer, so technically it's a monopoly) and the new kid on the block, Martin de Candre.

In the end it's up to people like you to spread the gospel....

I'll happily try anything but most products with an 'e' 'x' or 'i' prefix scare me.

Completely agree. If they changed their name and marketed themselves as a "French artisanal" product they could be a hit!

I don't know, their products are great and should get more love. I myself have 2 of their soaps 4 creams and 4 AS balms, that I use regularly.
