I will use a new soap / cream for about two weeks using it in different ways to see how it performes. But I just love the rotation, live in the moment!

I am a big fan of the three day rule for shave products.
It takes a couple days for the skin to react or not react to a product.
Hard soaps like Mitchell's do seem to like being used
a couple days in a row. Perhaps it is previous soaps
in the brush that take time to wash out or perhaps
it is the puck needs softening a bit for tomorrow....
I have also been fooled by the previous
soap or cream influencing a new soap.
When I switch from a cream to a hard
soap the first day gets a bit of uberlather
effect depending on how well I rinsed
out the brush. This can make a difficult
soap look easy...
I do put a small splash of water on my MWF
the day before if it has been sitting for a while.
Tabac just lathers... it does not care.
One hard milled shave soap that does care is the AOS
(art of shaving) hard soap. It is a stealthy soap but a good one once I got
serious about using it.
So many good and great shave soaps.... and only one face...

I have so many soaps and creams that at the beginning of this year I devoted my shaving to using just 1 product until finished.
It lets you get to know the soap well and also whether it is worth replacing when done. So far I've been through 2 pucks of soap, 1 tub of cream, and 1 shave stick. Speick stick is the only one of those 4 I'll replace.
I honestly don't really miss the huge rotation I had. Now it is more of a goal to finish that puck and move on to the next.

I tend to use one soap or cream till finished. Now it is a stick of Arko: best VFM ever IMHO. Still have quite a lot of Proraso on the shelf that will have to go before I'll buy something new.

Thanked: 1371
I did a little over a month with nothing but Williams. I got it to perform quite well.
Lately I've been using nothing but Bairlea Farm, but that's not as an experiment. I just really like the soap.
