Ya I know what you mean about the feedback, I left 5 start feedback but didn't want to rain on his parade with my over the top expectations in a personal message. From what I saw tonight it's a case of trying something different to my normal routine to get it to do what I want. I'll give it a proper test tomorrow night and let you know how I get on. Fair play to the guy as I wanted to start making my own soaps about a year back but never bothered due to quantities involved and lack of time. Hats off to him for doing it and providing a service in my book!

    Thanks for the link!

I've had another go last night, didn't soak the puck like I normally would and built up a nice thick lather. I lathered my face and the back of my neck and shaved my neck first. This takes less than a minute and by the time I got the second half of my face shaved the lather had all but disappeared! As much as I want to like this it's just not for me. If anyone wants to try this particular soap pm me your address and I'll post it to you. I've built 3 lathers out of it but they just don't last. It could just be me though...

No your right, i'm having the same experience with it. The lather dissolves too quickly. Which is a shame. I sent him a message asking about making a Rhubarb and custard shaving soap, if I get a reply I will see what he says about making a less frothy lather. Had a go with the Taylors lime tonight and its super creamy. Mitchels wool fat is still my favourite though, just something about the smell and the glide.

Lathering in the bowl it came in with little water produces better results, but it still doesn't last. I'm still using mine, just topping up as I go. It gives a decent shave. He is making me some Rhubarb and Custard shaving soap, just because I asked, which is pretty wonderful. I let him know about the foam situation to see if he can do a bit of experimenting to get a longer lasting lather. Maybe harder to do with all natural ingredients?
Even in Mitchells wool fat there is a pretty long list of chemicals. Although most look pretty natural chemicals if you see what I mean.

I been using Luvwick shave soap with Lanolin I got off Ebay in my rotation and it is definetly comparable to MWF in glide/cushion except it lathers easily even with the hard water here in the Florida swamp. Its only about 6.50 with shipping. The scent is a very subtle almond. Much less then Cella. The lady list it as "all natural" but list Sodium Hydroxide or Lye in the ingridients. I am sorry if this sounds like a ebay ad I just thought it was worth mentioning on an ebay soap find thread. Happy Shaving to all.
