Default Pamper Cafe Soaps on Ebay

This is my fave shop I have found on ebay for a long time. It's hand made soaps with all natural ingredients. I just tried out the Frankinsense and Myrh. Its a really nice smell and lathers up quick. Although I felt it made a nice creamy lather better on my face than in the bowl, don't think it needs as much water as MWF which im used to. He sent me a sample slice of Rhubarb and custard soap in my package. Love the smell of that and I've asked him if he would make a soap like that. Think that would be fun. Best thing is the stuff is very cheap compared to the branded soaps. I'd definately reccomend giving some a try. Not sure if he will ship to the states. Worth a go.

Here it is bud, Pamper Cafe items - Get great deals on SOAP, BATH MELTS items on eBay.co.uk Shops!
I can see me trying a few more bits from him. Be interested to see what other folks make of it as I've only got WMF to compare it to.

I've got an orange and cedarwood one, it doesn't really have enough scent in it in my opinion. I recieved a sample of sandalwood as well which is a bonus. I love sandalwood so it's nice to compare.

Pros for me were the price, it's natural, and mainly it's supporting somebody doing something off their own back. The service was great as well, quick delivery and a sample is always a nice touch.

The cons were the lack of scent which I was really looking forward to as I love a citrus smell and I found the lather a bit thin and drying before I finished shaving. This could well be down to my lack of technique but I haven't had problems with many other soaps. Could be down to me adding too much water as you mentioned? Might have had a bad night, who knows.

I'll have another go to see how I get on with the lather and add a few drops of glycerin. If I can whip up a decent one with it I'll definately be getting more as I love having choices of scents depending on my mood. I'm the type that sometimes goes for something costly to treat myself but generally go for several more affordable options to get more variety...

I know what you mean, its a subtle fragrance, but then i'm used to MWF which is pretty subtle. I tried whipping some up in my bowl but found it a bit frothy, and had all but dissapeared when I got to the other side of the face. Lathering straight out of the soap bowl on to the face with a wet brush had a very different result, very rich and creamy. I'll have to try with some glycerine in the bowl too. Might help it take a bit more water. I've ordered some Taylors Lime shaving cream too, been on a shopping spree.
The Rubarb and custard soap has a great smell to it, I hope he can make me some of that in a shaving soap.

I'll have round two tomorrow and see how I get on. Thing is I want to like this stuff for the price and variety. I go from the soap bowl straight to my face with it, as mentioned I might have just had a bad night or too much water added.

Just curious where you ordered the Lime Taylors? Ebay? It's my birthday soon so I'll be treating myself to some new soaps and I fancy some of that. Still gutted I can't get Ogallala in the UK anymore, I really do like that stuff! Typical as I get hooked then can't score a fix

It seems to do allot better neat straight out of the bowl onto the face. Otherwise it just gets frothy and disolves. Not really one for super rich creamy lather in the bowl, but I had a really nice shave with it straight out of its dish with a wetish brush. Probably worth giving him some feedback as he sounds like quite an enthusiast.

The Taylors came today. Got it from the barber shop on ebay. Smells ok, not as natural smelling as I had hoped. The art of shaving lemon one is meant to be good. Havent had a shave with it, nothing to shave again yet! I'm starting to have more smellies than my Mrs!

Actually I just had a test lather with the Taylors lime and the scent is very nice when its lathered. Really thick and creamy from just a little dab too. In comparison the pamper cafe stuff just doesn't cream up like that, can get the consistency but it doesn't last as long on the face before disolving away. Might try mixing them together!!! How does one make Nitro Glycerine?

This was bothering me so I've just had a go again. Not had a problem producing a lather before this soap, round two ding ding. Normally I fill the sink with hot water while I shower soaking my brush and soap. When I go to shave I tip the water out and start to load my brush. I never bother with a seperate bowl, it's soap to face round my manor. Just now I didn't soak my brush or the soap just got the tap nice and hot. Loaded the brush as normal and lathered my face. Definately an improvement with less water and no soak I'd say. I didn't add any glycerin but tomorrow night when I shave I will just to see what it's like again.

The thought of leaving feedback did cross my mind but I didn't as it's down to personal preferance how strong a scent is. I got my wife to smell it and she immediately said citrus, then orange. She can smell it, I just fancied a heavy citrus blast when using it which is probably unrealistic.

I know what you mean about having more smellies than your wife! I used to keep this fairly simple but lately I want more and more soaps to suit my mood when shaving. It's addictive stuff, the more you try the more you want to try for whatever reason....

Here's where I got the Taylors Taylor of Old Bond Street Shaving Cream Lemon-Lime 150g on eBay (end time 12-Jul-11 16:30:21 BST)

I didn't mean the e-bay type feedback, just send him a message of how you got on with it. I might tell him it could do with a bit more of a smoothyness rather than bubblyness.
