So, for next year, you might want to consider
    (1) Acca Kappa Almond
    (2) Acca Kappa 1869 (also fairly sweet)
    (3) Officina Profumo - farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (a bit like proraso, but better)

    And for soaps
    (1) Mitchell's WFS
    (2) Martin de Candre

By any chance, does anyone know what the real period is that you can actually keep and use shaving creams ? Most of them mention a use-by period of 12M.
I asked the same question, my Bluebeard Revenge is at my GF and I only have the mediocre Men Ü ShaveCream at home and it says 24 months from when opened. The rest is on its way to me ....,

But I think you're right - 12 months longevity from when first used.

I only shave 4 times a week, so gotta use XL lathering all week long

You have a link to websites in Europe where I can buy the 3 ShaveCreams you mention

Martin De Candre: Soap factory Martin de Candre: soap made in the ancient style following a Marseilles method. (site is being updated now)

Akka Cappa shaving cream Acca Kappa 1869 Shaving Cream

Mitchells wool fat: Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap and Decorated Mitchell's Ceramic Soap Dish

Personally I would recommend Cella: Cella Shaving Cream Crema Da Barba Made in Italy
It's more a soap than a cream, soft soap or hard cream.
No idea where you can find SMN.

Thanks a lot for the fine links

But I'm crazy if I buy more ShaveCreams. Would be sad to have to throw ShaveCreams out because I have too many

I recently read that as well, I don't know what to believe. The reports are conflicting; it's either rare or discontinued, either way the outlook seems bleak. I used to think that the 8oz jar would last forever, but if it is discontinued my jar of DC seems pretty small all of a sudden....

Martin de Candre's been updating it's English site for over a month now. They charge a lot for shipping out of France. Basically they don't want to sell outside of France. What you need to do is find a french member willing to ship it over. That's how I got it.

MWF I would buy at Connaughtshaving (ebay) but there's plenty of others who sell it. Same with Cella which is indeed a very good soap. But I prefer the Acca Kappa because it has a stronger smell.

SMN: that's a problem. I picked it up whilst on vacation in Italy. We should find an Italian member to ship it !

Incidentally, I think that soaps keep longer than creams, so you can always buy more soaps

They still haven't shipped my Penhaligons yet

The Castle Flower I ordered from Executive Shaving a day layer just arrived - WOW WOW WOW what a high quality product.

The casing, even the now plastic pot is pretty classy and the two scents - lime and lavender are fantastic.

Just shaved with the CastleFlowers Lavender cream - wow, amazing thick cream that lathers great.
Lathered my brush directly in the pot and in 2 minutes got a thick solid fantastic foam lather, more than enough for 3 passes !

If Penhaligon is a match quality wise to this thick oily cream, then WoW again.
