Go to alsshavingdotcom and order one of his bombs. They are amazing. Super lather. Great scents. Awesome glide and conditioning. They take some work I'd you water is hard but it is worth it.

I really like the SRD Sandalwood soap. That has a really spicey woody scent and is very different to all the other Sandalwood soaps and creams I've used.

You might also check out the Penhaligons line of creams. The Sartorial is a very pine-y smelling cream and lathers like a dream.

From L'Occitane: "A traditional shaving soap, enriched with our purifying Cade essential oil complex, nourishing Shea Butter, cold cream and macadamia nut oil. Wild juniper, called “CADE”, grows in the dry Provencal hillsides. Based on cade's antiseptic and strengthening properties,".

Cade has a wonderful scent. L'Occitanes description is wrong though, there is no Shea butter in it.

I've tried a few soap/cream combinations, and I get the best results by far with this shaving soap paired with Nivea Shave Cream (I think I have the "for sensitive skin" version. The puck of soap costs $10 at the L'Occitane store, and the cream was... $3-$5 for a tube that has lasted me months. Just dab some cream on my face here and there, load up the brush with soap, and within a minute or two I have a really nice, thick, and extremely slick lather on my face.

I agree with bharner.....I have Al's "Saigon" scent. It's a lemon grass so not the woodsy type but definitely a strong grass scent. Perfect for the summer feel. Leaves my skin feeling nourished with an enjoyable aroma.

Heres Some of my suggestions. Again some of them are not woodsy but they are great soaps.
    In no particular order:
    1) Martin De Candre
    2) La Toja
    3) Loiccitane Cade
    4) Razororck ( any of them )
    5) Any SRD soap
    6) Tabac or Irish Moos
    7) Any Dr.Harris soap
    8) Provence de Sante
    9) Pre de Provence
    10) Any QED soap
    11) Al's Bombs
