    MRID,

The Prorazo sounds like the better of the choices you mention. Conk, Williams, VDH all work, but not particularly well. I can't tell the diff. between Conk glycerine & VDH. They both dry quickly, leaving the skin feeling the same. I'm a BIG fan of not spending alot for suds, but every since trying Provence Sante on Obie's suggestion, I've not touched anything that seems a better value. Refills at Westcoastshaving for $10. Yes, that's more than Conk/VDH/Williams. The result is wonderful and it lasts a LONG time.

Good luck w/ your search. If you find another low cost/high value sudser - pls let us know.

+100 for Provence de Sante. I LOVE this soap. It's staying in the rotation indefinitely. Proraso is my #2 go to soap. I have used the tub and the CO Bigelow tube. I like the green tub better. The green tub is a great deal and a very solid performer.

I have both col conks bay rum and proraso in the green tub. Both are good performers for the price but on a daily basis I choose conks every time. The scent is way better than the bland proraso smell and I'm not up for that heavy menthol kick every morning. Although, I would have to say proraso has the edge in the actual lather.

    Clear as mud?
