Hello, Tekbow: This is an interesting conversation. I've never given clay soaps much thought, really. I might have even used soaps containing clay without knowing it. Because of my heavy beard — Lynn says I have tree trunks for a beard — and sensitive skin, I generally lean toward soaps with Lanolin, shae butter, aloe, and similar ingredients.

Fitjar is the one highly regarded soap I have yet to try. I don't seem to find the neroli version that does not cost a fortune for shipping — and that's the one I want. I've paid enough shipping costs for Martin de Candre, for heaven's sake. Our good friend P. Dobson says Fitjar does contain clay. If I can find the neroli version with civil shipping charges, I will definitely give you my thoughts on how the clay content pampers my Hollywood face.
