    Default Matching uberlather scents

Nothing wrong with mixing scents, nothing wrong with using unscented soap and or cream, but I've been experimenting lately with soaps and creams with similar base scents that meet two criteria:
    1) They make exceptional uberlather; and
    2) I like the scent.
Bonus points if I find a similarly scented aftershave balm I like.

So, thus far my favorite is DR Harris Lavender soap with Castle Forbes Lavender cream. A close second is CF Cedar wood/Sandalwood cream with Muhle Sandalwood soap.

Next on my list is to try a soap/cream combo from Penhaligon's...their Blenheim Bouquet scent is available in soap and cream.

I'm also looking for a good Lime soap to try with my CF Lime cream. I've tried Col. Ichabod's lime glycerin soap. It works but I'm not getting good lather. Anyone have a lime scented soap the like?

Am I the only one trying to match my uberlather scents? If not, what combos do you like?

    Hi eflatminor!

I haven't tried that, but You just gave me an idea. Being rather new to straight razor shaving, my first soap was the Proraso Eucalyptus and Menthol and my second and current soap is the Tabac Original. I recently purchased The Art Of Shaving (unscented) and unscented it is. Perhaps I could add a few drops of my Truefitt & Hill Cologne?

One of my favorite uber combos is Handmade Naturals Frankincense soap plus Palmolive Lemon cream. The scent combo is absolutely intoxicating to the point that I stand there and almost forget that I need to shave with it.

Queen Charlotte makes a Key Lime shaving cream (haven't tried the shaving soap) that is brilliantly scented. It's not very persistant, and I'm sure that's because of the light lime fractions that were used, but it smells good enough to eat, and lathers quite well.

I just can't see the point. Why should I mix the scents? Why should I mix the creams and the soaps? Why should I add glycerin? What is going wrong with me?
