I use the proraso tub and tube. I love them!!! Take the wet brush and swirl it for about 30s. Then whip it up in a bowl, mug, your hand, or on your face. Add a touch of water if needed... whip for about 1 min and you are good to go.
Lately I have been mixing the proraso with Taylor of old bond street, or MWF, or Tabac and getting really good results. I think the Proraso is soap based and the others are cream/oil based so they mix really well.

Thanked: 485Proraso was the first 'proper' shaving cream I bought. Of course, it's a bit of a cross between a soap and a cream, more soapy than creamy. I really liked it, but now that I've tried others on my quest (Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar cream, Musgo Real, La Toja cream, Body Shop Macca Root, Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad Soap, Speick cream (tube), Taylor of Old Bond Street Eton College cream (tube)) I'm not all that enamoured. It's interesting that I'm still so new to this after six moths that I can name all the creams I've used!
I used to scoop some Proraso out of the tub with my little finger and put it in the bowl and mix in the H2O in the bowl, but I actually think that this new tub is firmer than the old, and when I last used it I swirled rather than scooped (as mentioned above).
I ordered some C O Bigalow the other day without realising it's Proraso re-badged in a tube. Maybe that's a good thing? Maybe it'll be easier to use? Funny thing is, I was also going to buy some Omega, but then read that THAT was Proraso as well! What's with that Proraso brand? Sneaky little buggers!
I've now decided to get some O Melhor in a tube (from Ireland, of course) and some Arko (shaving stick). I WAS going to get some more Musgo Real, as I really like the way it lathers and like the powdery scent, but I'm holding off until I check out the O Melhor; it could be that O Melhor leaves Musgo Real for dead. Problem with doing it that way is postage starts racking up. The on line shops in AU just never seem to have what I want NOW...
Might actually go back to Speick, too, that was nice...
I want to find a 'go to' cream and a 'go to' soap as my staples, get maybe three of each, and then just dabble around the skirts of that, trying new things once in a while. Of course, Mitchell's Wool Fat's on the list, as is Martin de Candre (but funds don't allow and purchasing is difficult).
Happy lathering!!!Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
