    I enjoy:

    Arko - for the scent
Palmolive - for the glide and cushion
Proraso - for the ease of lathering (when you're in a pinch)
Crabtree and Evelyn - scents and glide are wonderful
MWF - great to do a double lather with, where you whip up a loose one and let it sit, and then put a thick one overtop

Wow, i put a post go to bed to wake up the next morning with 10 post, thanks.. now i have plenty research to do.. as you asked about my face, it is a little oily, very sensitive under the jaw, but the hair is never thick, i never really could grow a full beard, only a medium goatee.. but still could never get a good shave no matter what, it was as if i felt every hair get pulled out, i recently got a safety razor, and its been the best shave in over 15yrs, $100 electrics that ooze cream, or other fancy 2-3-4 blade razors, nothing diff! going old school worked, so i fig to go to soap, so far thieve been OK, just something i got to get used to.. i ordered a custom made scuttle, so that's the next toy, Ive just used a mug so far. that's why i fig id ask you guys what soaps are good, i just grabbed the 4 Conk ones to start with.. Thanks again for the info.. JR

If you have sensitive skin or are allergic to lavender get their unscented, otherwise the scented is glorious. Since you pay for shipping from france anyways while you are at it pick up a few other shower, face, and hand soaps as well. There are thousands of things to try in shaving but honestly this could be the only thing that matters.

Arko is always a good buy. In medium priced soaps, the Italian soft soaps are very popular. Also, practice is very important, especially if you have hard water (especially with some soaps like Williams and MWF) , and, keep in mind, that 2 out of 3 times, if you are unhappy with the lather, adding more soap/cream will improve things.

I have VERY HARD water, i should even get a filter for it, but its not worth putting in this dump, and the owner wont do it. although now that i thought of it, i have the drinking filter on the sink, they do make one to go on the shower head, even a shower head that is a filter, hmm. ok now i have research to do..
