This is an interesting thread to read. I remember learning to lather and reading about how I should only add little drops of water at a time. You know what though, I get the best lather with a lot of water no matter what I use. Last night I was lathering a bowl of Real Shaving Co, and I left a good little puddle of water in the bowl before I added the cream, rather than add it a drop at a time. And I didn't squeeze the brush out either...just 3 shakes and I was done. And I got some of the best lather I've ever gotten...so much of it too, I had enough for 5 passes. Usually I find myself running out by the 3rd pass. I'm definitely going to be trying the Williams after reading this...maybe even today. I have some sample chunks of other soaps and I think I might mill them with the williams and see what it gets me.

Glad I saw this. Tried my Williams again tonight with a good bit of water, and BINGO! Great lather that didn't dry out

I too have enjoyed great lather with williams. It does need more water than other soaps but for the price you can't beat it. Just remember to keep your face wet with water between passes and enjoy the great lather and shave.

I to use Williams, its cheap and it works and as you see above makes one heck of a lather when prepared properly. Coffee sized mugs don't seem to work well with it, at least for me. I picked up a wide mouth cappucino mug, just a plain white one at Target for around $4.00 and what a difference.

Just throw hot water in the mug with the soap let it sit while I wash my face and strop the ole razor, dump the water fill it up just below the puck top and away we go. I end up with more lather than I need for a complete shave and I lather up frequently. Hell, if the little woman comes in next time maybe I'll lather her up and slide her out the door. LOL. Just kidding, I wouldn't have anybody to get the mail during the the day. Wouldn't want anybody stealing my razor goodies. LOL

Glad to see your finally getting to enjoy a good product at a pretty darn good price. Keep your Razor sharp and your mind sharper.

Williams is different than any other soap of cream I have used... It's insane, you use too much water and somehow it lathers up awesome.
Any other soap would turn into a watery mess with this kind of water amount.
