That's a funny thing about the SWMBO approval, my SWMBO likes only Burberry Eau de Toilet; none of the other scents (T&H Trafalgar, Clubman, Floïd, Dominica Bay Rum) appeal to her. It would be interesting to post a thread asking for the favourite SWMBO'd scent/s, after all, I don't want to attract YOU guys, I want to attract, well, She Who Must Be Obeyeds....

Thats true Carl, but you also have to take into account what you enjoy sometimes as well. My wife isn't keen on certain things until she gets used to it, then all of a sudden she's asking what I'm wearing in a good way when she originally turned her nose up at it. Used to be I could only wear Mandom when I was going out to the woods for the weekend felling trees with my double bit axe, riding horses with no saddle and catching trout with my bare hands. Now she enjoys it in the house when I have it on. If your good lady finds something appauling put it away by all means but don't give up on the ones you really enjoy. It just might grow on her!

Tabac is definately one of those scents your other half needs to enjoy though as Ryan pointed out. It's potent stuff(in a good way to some of us).

I've been using Tabac nearly exclusively for a few months now. I works well.

    Gentlemen:
I have used the Tabac soap for a number of years, and will continue to do so. It is a superb soap. The fragrance is controversial: some love it and, well, some not. The aftershave gave me a headache, so I retired it.

I love Tabac soap and aftershave. I don't really get the controversy over the smell... what's not to like?

Too true. Is there a lot of trout in the Northhampton waterways these days?

I'm afraid not, you need to go further afield for those. Lots of carp and crayfish though. I haven't been fishing since I lived in Canada, it's been years sadly. To be honest there's not even a lot of water left in Northampton right now due to no rain in the last year. It's currently a record low. I was concerned after seeing the local resevoir last year but it's only starting to hit the news now.

The world's weather is stuffed up, isn't it? It used to be that no matter how bad things got one could take solace in nature, and even that's becoming tainted...

I find Tabac soap gives a good shave which is the most important thing for me, scent is not too strong but fell it fit better with winter shaving for me.
The after shave when I first cracked open a new bottle had a stronger smell then I did after a few weeks of use.
SWMBO and myslef both like Tabac.
Did have a butt ugly woman in the office pass a negitive comment but who cares what she thinks LOL
