    Default Kaloderma

Just wondering why Kaloderma shaving cream does not get mentioned on here that often? I have not tried a great many shave creams and tend to be a bit of a cheap skate to boot. That said, I do like Proraso green tube but tried a tube of Kaloderma out and found that for the money I'll stay with Kaloderma. I usually face lather but today I whipped up a lather in a mug with a super badger brush, some Kaloderma and few drops of glycerine for a really nice shave with great lather. Where I live looking at retail prices you can get twice the amount of Kaloderma for the same price as Proraso so for me Proraso is not twice as good. To me it is a no fuss get the job done with comfort shave cream that is good bang for the buck. Any other cheap skates out there?

Never heard of it. Where do you find it?

Safeway in Canada carries it @ $2.99 for 100ml. It is imported to Canada from Germany. It is said to contain Camomile among other things. I also should have said I am using a DE not SR if that makes any difference. I have seen it as cheap as $1.99 with a small brush included from a place in Ottawa and as high a $4.49 elsewhere on the net. Don't know if it is imported into the US though.

I have been through a few tubes of it. It's inexpensive, and works well.

It's half the price of Proraso. I hope Safeway keeps carrying it.

I was sent a tube of this at xmas, my mom got it in BC as she lives on the island. I'd never heard of it, tried it and had a great shave. Searched on here and it's been mentioned a few times but not anywhere near as much as it should. It leaves your face feeling great and provides excellent cushion and glide in my opinion. Cheap or expensive, if they work I'm a fan. I'll be getting another tube for back up when I'm visiting this summer as I've never seen it in England...

Yea, I hope Safeway doesn't stop carrying it also. You never know when an item like this gets dropped so I stocked up on 3 tubes of it yesterday just in case. Three tubes for $9.00 as opposed to one tube of Proraso for about the same price. I found Nivea shave cream, also imported from Germany, to be similarly good but a dollar a tube more locally. I am surprised that Kaloderma is not readily available in England considering that England seems to have a greater variety of shave creams and soap available than here in Canada.

There seem to be a lot of things we have that you don't but it goes both ways. I've yet to see Proraso on a shelf here, same with many other things I'd like to buy locally if possible. Mainly German things I suppose like Irisch Moos and Speik and similar. Clubman Pinaud is available at Sallys here but dead expensive for what you get.

The only creams and soaps you see in abundance here at supermarkets are Palmolive, Wilkinsons and Erasmic. Sometimes Ingrams and sometimes Tabac in the chemists. The rest I aquire are ordered online or sent as samples from my virtual pal Midloth72.

I can't wait to stock up on cheap aftershaves like Aqua Velva and Stetson and similar when I go home to Canada in the summer. That's all thats on my wish list apart from unhealthy food I don't get here. Better go for a run tonight thinking about it!

I could never figure out the whys and wherefores of what gets imported where or not. Total puzzle to me. We had a quick visit to friends in Surrey on a stop over and forgot to look for Palmolive and Erasmic which I would like to try. We live in a smaller city so Online is about the only way to try other stuff but shipping kills the deal unless it is bundled with a larger order for free shipping. Speaking of running I think I'll have a shave and waddle down for morning coffee. The daily ritual of a retiree. Enjoy your visit home. I had a lot of good times on the Island too many years ago when in the Navy.

Apparently it has not been available for a while: Comeback der Kaloderma Rasiercreme - NassRasur.com-Forum
