The new Proraso soap is at least as good as the old one, maybe better, but I can't tell. I ordered the green tube and the red tube a few days ago to try out.

I'm a little hesitant to order another tub, since my original tub is almost 4 years old and is still going strong!
I ordered mine from the UK before ItalianBarber had them in stock (got impatient lol)

I keep seeing different people mentioning that a product has not made it to their country "yet". What in the world are you waiting for? It's not available here in the U.S. either...ordered two tubs & the splash anyways from eBay My World - maguires.barbershop

I like the Muhle Sea Buckhorn, but the Dovo will not receive my seal of approval. I've really tried to make it work, but it doesn't have the lubricate the face (with my water) very well at all. Works ok with a DE, but I would not recommend the Dovo for a straight shaver.

The Dovo soap I believe is the Gold Dachs brand of soap with a different label. It is a very alkaline soap and some find that it stings quite a bit. I tried this back in 2009 and found that it stung me as well. But it was a smooth shave, so possibly worth a visit. I do think there are better things out there though.

I am very interested in the Dovo creams. Its funny that you say it's good for DE's but not a straight! That's exactly the opposite of what I have heard. I have heard that it doesn't lather very much but that the glide is awesome!

I am assuming you gave it a good shot... so that's kind of disappointing as I was looking forward to getting some. How did you like the scent??

I love the scent that the Buckhorn gives off - I layer it with the aftershave balm, the scent lingers for a while which I like. Oddly enough - I can't get it to lather very well at all though. LOL - too funny!!

Have not tried the new stuff yet but did see the new stuff at Shoppers Drug Mart locally. I don't believe they carry the sandal wood.

I'm not saying it's good at all with my water, just want to be clear. I run my DE shallow as I only shave with it in a hurry. The scent is a really reminds me of a old time soap smell, not offensive IMO...just lacks a lot in lubrication. Again, that's with my water. I have to most definitely disagree with the whoever said the glide was awesome. My personal baseline is Proraso. If it is better...great & I'll keep it. If it's not better...I just won't use it after I have given it an honest try.

Earcutter: If you cover the shipping, it's yours to try, have, throw away... Just PM me. Maybe it would work better with your water.
