I currently use Arko, Palmolive, Speick and Erasmic shave sticks. The Arko and Palmolive are in a league of their own. IMO, they are among the best soaps out there. The Speick is also great. The Erasmic stick can be hit and miss. The best part is that these are all inexpensive.

Thanked: 1587I like the Speick too, and have tried the palmolive (which is also good). Currently I have been using a very nice shave stick given to me by a friend from Europe. I think it is vintage. It is a German product called Spring Reiter rasier seife made in west germany and has a nifty picture of an equestrian jumping a gate on it ( I guess that ties in with the whole horserider thing in the title? Sorry, my German is rubbish). IMO it is probably the best I have used.
James.

Being in Britain you should just go and pick up a Palmolive stick or two, it's cheap, and few can compare to it's performance.
Others I can recommend to look up is Valobra and Wilkinson, and of course Tabac and Irisch Moos, all excellent performers, the last two will not fit in that container though.Last edited by Zephyr; 05-17-2012 at 09:22 PM.

I like the D. R. Harris shave sticks as well as the LaToya. I've used both of them when traveling.
The LaToya costs about 1/2 the price of D. R. Harris sticks.
I have also heard good things about the Wilkinson Sword shave stick.

As you're in England you could try your local Boots as well, they do shave sticks of their own brand which smells nice and oldschool. As others have mentioned Palmolive and Erasmic are also available at many chain stores like Tescos, Asda and Morrisons. If you can find a Touchwood chemist they have an amazing range of oldschool colognes, aftershaves, soaps and creams and sticks...happy shopping!
