Thanked: 3225Paul
I guess we are safe then, it is white and no sour smell. I don't think it has gone rancid. Just have get used to the, for me, distinct smell.

Your Cella has gone rancid.
This happens very often with Cella soap. It is made of tallow and it has no conservatives. Therefore, bacterial growth within the soap alters significantly the smell.
Your Cella performs the same, but without the almond scent.
I propose you to buy another Cella soap, from another shop. This way you will love boths cent and performance, and it doesn’t cost much.

Thanked: 3225OK, bought a bottle of almond extract today and compared it to the Cella smell. Yea, Cella smells like almonds alright but not as strongly as the extract. So now I know 3 things, what almonds smell like, the Cella is not rancid and the smell of almonds is not high on the list of my favourite smells or the wife's either for that matter. So I'll carry on using it because it performs well and leave the lid off to lessen the scent.

Thanked: 3225Yea, like I said I like Arko better, go figure. There has to be the odd man out, it might as well be me I'm used to it. You really don't want to know what scotch and beer I like.

Thanked: 3225No it is definitely not a rancid smell nor is the Cella rancid but rather an almond smell which I was not familiar with nor like much it seems. In all other respects Cella does a fine job for me.

I really like Cella good performer very reasonably priced and the scent is nice. To my nose it smells like marzipan which funny enough is mainly sugar and almond meal.
