Thread: Cella odour

Just tried my new tub of Cella out and really liked how it performed but did not care for the smell of it. I honestly like the smell of Arko better. But wait it gets better, SWMBO says it smells like pooh on my face after I finished the shave. Some aftershave balm seemed to cover it up. Anyone else bothered by the odour of Cella?

Not at all I really like the smell of it actually. It and vitos are two of my favorites and both have the almond scent.

When I first tried Cella I didn't care for the smell but after using it for a while it doesn't bother me any longer.

If that is an almond smell then I don't care for it but I don't have to smell it and don't after I shave. I guess I'll just have to camo it up with another aftershave scent for the sake of others. Like I said works well so out nose plugs.

Cella is a real old time shaving soap (one of the best IMHO)
The perfumed smelly stuff is a modern phenom.

You should not smell fecal scent. Cella is almond. Bob, you have never smelled almond before? Clearly you have a bad tub and should contact your vender. Cella is excellent soap and one of my favorite's.

My wife thinks knize 10 smells like pooh,not to say it smells like fecal material.
smells more like kerosene.
But yes Cella being A tallow based concoction can go bad, have used it for 20+ yrs and have not seen that happen.

Actually I have not really has much experience with what almonds smell like and it could easily be that it is an almond odour. Lead a sheltered life, now if it smelled like cashews that would be a different matter. Yea it is excellent soap otherwise for sure. I really don't think the tub is bad just not an odour I am familiar with and one the SWMBO doesn't care for but an aftershave will cure that. Definitely different. I think wife is exaggerating a bit.

I love the smell of Cella.

I have heard (via other forums), that it can go off and smell somewhat horrible.

I wonder if this is what has happened in your case.

Bob is it white or yellow? It should be white. It should smell sweet and slightly vanillaish. I have seen a bad jar and it smells bad when sour sooooo. It is posible.
