Thanked: 6Crabtree and Evelyn soap is been good to me as well, but Ive recently moved to AoS sandalwood cream, and love it. I have always wanted to try that Blue beard stuff.... anyone had any experience with that?

I think that I will stick with the AoS preshave oil (unscented), Nomad shave soap, and the Nomad aftershave balm. The AoS shave cream is too touchy for me regarding lather. If I don't have enough water in it it gets pretty gooey and sticks to the blade and is too thick on my skin. The Nomad soap is a lot more forgiving and still gives a great lather and comfortable shave. Their aftershave balm is a bit less expensive than AoS yet is every bit as high in quality, at least for me. I'm doing my shaving right out of a hot shower and I massage the preshave oil into my beard, give it a minute or two then lather up. So far this has been working for me so I guess I'll stick with it for a bit before experimenting with some other routine.

I love C&E balms and especially Siena.
However, I used in the past both nomad and siena soaps and cream. I never liked either. I believe I am tallow-addicted regarding soaps and creams.

I have C&E nomad soap and it doesn't produce a lasting lather for me. I have loads of other soaps which do by the Nomad doesn't, I think that water type has a lot to do with it as our water is fairly hard.
If it works for you then carry on using it but I'd also compare it to something else. In the UK Palmolive is a great performer at a budget price and really shows what a good soap is like although the fragrance is lacking but I don't know if its available there.Regards
Nic

Thanked: 12I love the scent of Nomad, but I also think the cream is better than the soap. Lathers like crazy and performs as well as any cream I have used.

Thanked: 33I have only had experience with the cream. I have a bowl of the cream that I got from my father-in-law last Christmas and I love it! I would put it up against a lot of my others, it performs a lot like the Razorock XXX cream soap IME! However I must say that I use this mostly when I face lather. Sometimes I use it in the bowl, but not often. YMMV!

I've just bought the father in law a cake of Nomad soap. Like the smell so much in the shop I bought myself one too.
At £5 I'll take the chance. It seemed to lather well in the shop so I hope it does at home. I got a cheeky little disount of £1 off each cake so not bad.
The nice lady who helped me said her husband uses it and it lasts around 8 - 12 months. How much canned goo would you go though in that time?
