Default First trial of Proraso Red

When it arrived, I immediately spun off the cap and took in the scent. It is wonderful. A bit strong when lathered. (I like creams that have a strong aromatic presence; however this one has more of an "edge," to it than, say Mama Bear's Olde Barbershop, which is also very fragrant, but more complex.)

Sandalwood oil dominates the aroma, producing a decidedly spicy and masculine scent. Yields abundant lather with a wonderful creamy texture. Reduced two days' growth down to BBS with a three-pass shave using a 6/8 Dovo Bismarck. Very satisfying!

    Cheers!

P.S. Here's some advertising patter from the pamphlet inside the Proraso package, which I think we can all appreciate:

"Shaving is a daily ritual for Italian men, a moment of pleasure devoted to oneself. Proraso supports the professionals who have turned shaving into a veritable cult."

Yep I love the new Proraso Sandalwood. At first the scent dint do anything for me, but now it has grown on me and I love it. The performance is definitely great, and is a permanent cream in my rotation.

Old thread but just tried Proraso Red in a tub for a quick touch up shave to be presentable for Mothers Day. Really liked the green version and this Red is as good with just a different scent. Very nice sandalwood scent, not too over bearing. Think it will go well with my Kanon eau de toilette.

Got mine from the Italian Barber Proraso Sandalwood with Shea Butter Shaving Soap Tub so it should be available elsewhere now too. Yea, agree it is good stuff.

I just received a tub of the red and one of the white. Can't wait to try both but the white really smells nice!
