    Default My top 3 Creams

I have decided to list my favorite shave creams in case anyone cares. I know the Trumpers and Truefitt people will disagree, but here goes:

    1. The best cream from a purely shave-quality perspective is Vulvix Lavendar or Sandalwood creams. For whatever reason, the lather and lubrication is clearly superior to any product I have tried to date. The scents are a little weak though.

    2. Taylor Eaton College or Avocado creams. Both provide excellent shaves, and the Eaton College has a special shaviness to its scent.

    3. Proraso - Feels good on your skin and provides a good shave.

Favorite hard soap - QED Lavendar - Wow!

I use soap most of the time and have only tried the Vulfix, Proraso, and Colgate shaving creams.

The Vulfix Lavendar cream is just outstanding and so easy to get a perfect lather with, and I agree that the scent is on the weak side. The plus side of that is no clash with any A/S I want to use. Something about the Vulfix cream seems to be especially good for the skin, too. I like it so much that I haven't felt much motivation to experiment with other creams.

Nice Larry, I too have Proraso high up on the list of creams that I like along with Trumpers Limes. Trumpers sandalwood, for me at least, is a bit too "weak" in the aroma department but it has a pleasant smell nonetheless.

    Thanks for the tips.

In my limited experience I'd have to say I like
    C&E Sienna
    TGQ Oak & Moss
    T&H 1805
and probably in that order for now. I supect Colleen's batch of the O&M that I tried has been improved and may move up in rank, but I also expect to try many other excellent creams.

    so far:

1 - SCS minted chocolate from Sue. simply amazing creme. the properities of this are superb in every single way.... oh and the smell is totally unique among cremes.

2 - Nancy boy.... this is another top of the top top topest creme for its properties. the smell is fine, not anything special or great and it only comes in the 1 smell and i think thats why people don't give it enough attention. however the shaving properties of this creme are fantastic.

3 - well im still waiting on my 3rd fav... i've changed to being a primary soap man so i don't purchase many cremes anymore. i started as a creme user cuz its much easier to make lather from but since that is long perfected soaps just do me better.... proraso is good, AOS lavender would be in the garbage if i wasn't a pack rat, and CE almond oil i didn't like so much that i actually traded it for a col. conk crapola soap.

guess i owe it to myself to try one of those limes listed above.. but with such amazing soaps from all these home vendors (along with tabac) so hard to buy a creme.

Vulfix Old Original Lavendar is definitely one of my favorties as well. I completely agree with the assessment of creating a superior lather with ease. I enjoy the scent of it just as is though.

Runner up would go to either Salter's Almond or Salter's Fresh Mint for me.

The final standing is too difficult to call for me. I have a couple that would rank well if I used them more: Trumper's Coconut -- great scent, Taylor's Avocado (new formula) -- lovely lather. I've got some others in the stash too that I just simply need to try out.

hmm...I only have the cheaper kind of soaps and creams my top ones would be:

    1) The mint type of shavecream that I bought in the czech republic.
    2) Mammabear's Citrus and Basil soap
    3) Palmolive classic (the european kind) or TAGMSC shaving soap.

all of which are $6 or less.

I really like Colleen's lavender. I used Proraso for the first time in several months this morning and it was a pleasure. I'll have to get it back into the rotation.
