Thanked: 0Need new soap
Ok, I havent been on here for a while, but have been off and on working with my razor. I have found out that the razors I bought ( I have disposable style razor) are not as good or smooth as the blades someone else gave me to try.... so Im only out $4 at least!
The current soap I am using, VDM (cant remember exact name but cheap), and I will soon need to buy more soap. My question is and I know it is alot of personal preference here, what is a good soap/cream that isnt too expensive? Also, what is the biggest difference between the two, other than the obvious?
The soap I have lathers OK, but what I am expecting or see from other shavers online, it isnt all that great. I dont know if it is just me not getting the lather right or if it is just the cheap soap.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated!!

Any of the RazoRock products would be great as are the Mama Bear's soaps. Both are inexpensive and give massive amounts of lather.

IMO a soap can make the difference between a good shave and a great shave. For one, a good soap with good lubrication and cushioning, can cover a multitude of sins with your blade. Be a good 100% vegetable or one with lanolin (cheep fat) or other animal fat, it will give good glide to the blade (slickness) and protect you from the blade as it come in contact with your skin (cushioning). Scents is something you would have to figure out for yourself.
To me these are good value soaps: Tabac, Mike's Natural Soaps, Razor Rock, Cella, just come to mind, that are much better (to me) than VDH (I think that's the soap you are using). There are better or with different scents that I like and are just as good, but more expensive. Good luck Double O

I'd have to say that my top soaps are Calani. Very slick with great lather and some killer scents.

You can't get a better shave for the money than Tabac and the respectable Palmolive shave stick. Great to use on any day of the year and superb performers!
